Do you ever find, however rigidly you set goals for some employees, they never achieve them? There’s always an excuse why they missed targets or failed to achieve tasks set for them.

Why? Well, it’s probably because they’re not interested. They don’t feel engaged in the process that arrived at the goals, and the goals aren’t important for them.

Kevin Dwyer, a director at The Change Factory, says it’s important that managers understand employees personal objectives before they can match them to company goals. One easy way of doing this is through the deathbed soliloquy. He explains how this works in this edition of BTalk.
