What really happened on 9-11? We all watched the horrific events unfold, but did the planes really bring the buildings down?
Architects and Engineers for 9-11 Truth comprises more than 1,500 architects and engineers who believe the buildings collapsed as the result of a controlled implosion. They question the official findings and are calling for an independent inquiry into the building collapses.
Robert McCoy has been an architect in California since the 1960s. Most of his experience has been in high-rise steel buildings. He says buildings like the World Trade Centre were designed to withstand the impact of aircraft.
It’s a conspiracy theory. If he’s right, it raises questions around the need for more effective security procedures around all tall buildings. Otherwise, the same thing could happen again. But is it believable?

US GDP was better than it looks

Markets have had a chance to absorb the dovish sentiment from the Fed yesterday and take stock of mixed data overnight. On the surface US GDP numbers looked weaker than anticipated, but a chunk of that was influenced by lower inventory and trade numbers. NAB’s Gavin Friend explains how consumption and investment was actually much higher than anticipated. He says we can expect a strong GDP read for the Euro are later today, where vaccine levels are picking up. Markets have also been soothed from conciliatory messages from China regarding overseas investors. The Aussie dollar showed slower growth on the back of a weaker US dollar, as the question remains, how long will the Sydney lockdown really last?
