Boris Johnson said he’d personally lie in front of the bulldozers if a decision was made extend Heathrow Airport – yet, it looks like, by 2026, it will get its third runway. I believe they have made the wrong decision. A rail link and expansion at Gatwick is better for competition, not to mention pollution, congestion and the saving of a suburb. The one argument for Heathrow, that we need an internationally competitive ‘hub’ doesn’t stack up, when most people end their journey in the UK.
