Life has become very difficult for the Prime Minister. She has to find a Brexit solution that will satisfy everyone, even the disunited group who voted to leave. There’s also the mixed messages from the likes of Jacob Rees Mogg, who wants to take control of our borders, but isn’t concerned about an open border at our only land connection with the EU.
Then there’s the question of democracy. We don’t want unelected representatives in the EU making decisions, but we’re happy for changes to be made to EU laws by unelected representatives in Whitehall.
Can we assume, whatever the outcome, nobody will be happy – least of all those who are supposedly getting what they asked for.
