Where I was born

I am a freelance broadcaster, podcaster, journalist, copywriter and marketing whiz! I have extensive experience, from senior roles in the likes of OzEmailEngin and the British Tourist Authority. You can see my full career history here.

My BTalk Australia podcasts are heard daily on the CBS Interactive business site BNET.comTwisted Wire is a weekly look at new media and telecommunications on technology site ZDNet.com.au. Check out the podcasts section for more.

Corporate podcasting and videos are a great way of communicating within your organisation - it's a more fun way of getting information across and building a team. I'm keen to do more of it. Read more here.

I also maintain a satirical news sitea bit of the other.com.

And I'm writing a novel. It's purely fictional, but based on my meanderings through the world of telecommunications.

Loves of My Life

I am an English born bloke who moved to Australia in 1991. The satellite picture shows where I was born, in suburban Liverpool in the mid sixties. You couldn't step out the door without tripping over a Beatle.

Forty or so years and a couple of weddings later I am married to Dana with two children (Hugo and Amelia), living in the suburbs of Sydney but keen to escape to somewhere more coastal when finances permit. I am enjoying family life more for the fact that I really didn't expect I'd end up being a dad. It's magical!

HugoWhen I've not got my head stuck in some sort of marketing activity, I've probably got my head stuck behind a microphone. I have had a great love of radio since I was in my early teens, when I used to listen to Radio Luxembourg under the covers in bed, confused by all the ads for women's sanitary products.I have presented numerous shows over the years, but I have to say it's hard to convince Aussie programmers that an Englishman with an alleged sense of humour is what people want to listen to. I guess there's also the potential argument that I'm not very good at it too! That said, the figures speak for themselves. Most haven't got a clue what they're up to. Keep up to data with my radio blog here.
