I started on hospital radio in my early teens. The audience was sick and I was chronic!
After I graduated I landed a gig at Radio Tees in NE England producing radio commercials, helping with sales pitches and presenting on-air.
In the eighties I came to Oz and presented the graveyard shift on 2JJJ. In those days everyone on Triple-J whispered, except me, the guy who was on when everyone was trying to get to sleep.
In the nineties and beyond I presented music shows on FM99.3 in Chatswood.
In 2008 I started my daily podcast on BNet. It can now be heard around the world, including CBS news sites in the US.

Here it is - a radio station built optimised for a small audience, with only music I like, humour only I appreciate and promoted exclusively to me. But you can listen in to if you want a bit of music while you work. New sections are added to the top of the playlist below. If you like it, tell your friends - let's see if we can get a bigger audience than your average dinner party.

Okay, so it's my fault. I was asked and I volunteered. David Campbell is away from his gig on FM99.3 almost as many weeks as he's there, so I did a fill-in yet again. I was stuck inside on a rare sunny day in Sydney. Thank goodness it's sunny again tomorrow so we can all head to the beach.
Heres the result. Have a listen sometime when its raining.
Ageing Sydney broadcaster David Campbell, known well to his family and a small circle of listeners, took a break for a few weeks, leaving me in charge of his well-avoided Saturday morning show. If you missed them, and most people did, here’s a chance to listen to them online - choose the full show or the one with the music edited out. I know, you’d prefer the one with the voice links edited out and just have the music.
On Sunday 29th October 2006 I said goodbye to the FM99.3 listener, hoping he was tuned in at the time, as I presented the last of my Sunday shows, never ever to return, ever, ever, ever.
Seeming as you missed it, here it is online, as I self indulgently play some of my favourite tracks of all time, accompanied by Bruce, Romi and Jess.
Desperate to find out where the FM99.3 audience was hiding, I decided to try out a few breakfast shows, co-hosting with Bruce Potter. Someone must be listening then, surely? Have a listen back online and help increase the aggregate audience. Just ignore the traffic reports - that incident has probably been cleared up by now.
